Is Onsharp's SmartPay service a replacement for my accounting system?

Onsharp's SmartPay service works alongside your accounting system, helping to bridge the gap between the supplier's and the buyer's financial systems.

Before using SmartPay, you would use your own accounting system to produce an invoice. Then you'd mail it, or perhaps attach it to an invoice as a PDF and send it off. The recipients then would have to put all the information from your invoice into their accounting system, cut a check, and send it to you. Your vendors would do the same, producing their own invoices for you in their (probably incompatible) accounting systems for you to run through your own accounting system.

SmartPay provides a Vendor Account Center and a Customer Account Center. Accounting systems typically don't come with this functionality.

Think of SmartPay as a communication system for finances.

Once your clients receive your invoice,  they can use the secure customer portal to pay by credit card or by debit from their bank. You also have the option of assisting them with phone payments if they prefer.

You can see why we call it "smart."
